What started as a hobby three years ago has blossomed into a journey filled with creativity, learning, and big dreams for the future. As a recent graduate of Essential Nails, Catherine shares how training with the right support and resources helped her achieve her goals, build confidence, and fuel her ambition to one day run her own relaxing garden salon.

My Nail Journey

My nail journey started as a hobby three years ago, and I decided to turn it into my passion. I'd like to eventually have a little summer house in the garden so I can work from home while creating a relaxing, friendly environment for my clients as they are being pampered.

This would also work around my home life. As a wife and busy mum of two, being able to work from home means I wouldn't have to worry about school holidays — it’s more convenient for me.

Why I Chose Essential Nails

I chose to do a nail course with Essential Nails because I was able to study from the comfort of my own home, doing it in my spare time. I picked them after doing lots of research — they have so much to offer, and the support is amazing. I've had nothing but guidance and encouragement throughout my entire nail journey.

Thanks to Essential Nails, I passed my Gel Polish course with a Distinction and also completed the Spa Pedicure & Spa Manicure course.

My Favourite Styles

Gel polish is my absolute favourite — the endless colours from neon to pastels and glitters, not forgetting cat eye polish. Gel polish has it all! I love the feeling after creating a beautiful set of nails, knowing the client has left with a perfect polish.

Overcoming Challenges

One challenge I faced was creating that perfect smile line during the Spa Manicure & Pedicure course. After contacting Essential Nails, they guided me through it, and I was able to create a flawless set of French tips. The online videos were really helpful too.

My Signature Look

My favourite nail shape has to be square with a teal gel polish, paired with shimmery glitter on a couple of nails — less is more!

Dream Client

Rita Ora would be my dream celebrity client because of her unique personal style. Creating a set of glitz & glam nails for her would be a dream come true!
