- All techniques are demonstrated on live models, however you can use The Nail Trainer practice hand (course option) to practice your shaping, preparation and polishing techniques.
- If you choose the assessment option, on completing your Assesset Spa Manicure and Pedicure course;
- Simply return your completed case study work book and question papers to us for marking.
- We will then assess your work, and if it is of a high enough standard we will issue you with your certificate(s) at pass, merit or distinction level. There are separate certificates for Manicure and Pedicure.

There are four course options:

Spa Manicure and Pedicure Course, No Options.
No matter what option you choose, you get the same comprehensive course that will teach you how to perform a Manicure and Pedicure to a professional standard. The course follows the requirements for the UK NVQ. However we recognise that not everyone needs to be formally qualified. So we've made the course as flexible as possible, allowing you to choose to learn Manicure, Pedicure or both, and to choose whether you wish to provide us with evidence of your work for formal assessment and certification.
The course provides all the tools and products you need, along with individual teaching DVDs for Manicure and
Pedicure. We teach you how to finish in single colour and French (pink & white) polishes, and we show you advanced massage techniques using oils and creams to provide your clients with a full Spa experience.
1. Spa Manicure and Pedicure + Foot Spa + Assessment Option.
This is the full course, including a luxurious foot spa (which is not strictly necessary to have for training purposes), for students wishing to incorporate it into their Pedicure routines. It provides an additional touch of bubbling luxury during the soaking process.
Also included is a comprehensive workbook and a set of question papers that you work through when treating your clients or models. You learn the routines as shown on the course DVD(s), and using a model of your choice, take progress photographs as you work through the treatment, which you save in your work book. You send your completed workbook back to us for assessment and certification.
You can choose to be assessed for Manicure, Pedicure or both, and if you pass, you will receive individual recognised certificates for each discipline. Having graduated, we can arrange your public liability insurance and for you to join the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists, so that you can work professionally from home or in a salon. 4. Spa Manicure and Pedicure No Options. If you just want to learn about Manicure and Pedicure techniques, but do not need your work and level of understanding assessed or a foot spa, then choose "Spa Manicure and Pedicure Course, No Options", above. You can always buy the assessment package and foot spa later.

Your tutor on the DVD is Jacqui Jefford. Jacqui has spent the last 25 years working in the Professional Nail and Beauty Industry. She has had her own salon with ten staff and private training school with five tutors with throughput of over a 1,000 students a year. She started as a mobile nail technician working from home and travelling to client's houses in London, and the Brecon Beacons, Wiltshire. She now lives in the New Forest, Hampshire. Jacqui's passion has always been education and she is the author of four successful books.
She has been instrumental in making sure that the course complies as much as possible with the NVQ syllabus and she covers much of the health and safety aspects of Manicure and Pedicure both on the DVD and in the accompanying book.

Your Instructor on the DVD is Denise Wright. Denise has been creating award winning nails since 1990 and has 13 national competition wins and 2 international placements to her name. She's appeared on national television and has many celebrity clients. As a qualified adult educational lecturer trained by the University of Greenwich, Denise lectures to City and Guild levels and travels the world helping to improve standards in the industry world wide. She also writes exam papers, moderates for governing bodies, has regular columns in all the trade magazines and is the competition director for the UK. In addition, the Habia skills team are currently utilising her skills to encourage lecturers development. Having owned her own salon from the age of 21, she is a successful business woman whose skill, experience and achievements are highly respected throughout the nail industry. She is also a member of the inspirational HABIA Skills Team travelling all over the UK giving seminars on nail education as well as being involved in the development of new nail qualifications.
On these DVD's she demonstrates the practical aspects of a Spa Manicure and Pedicure, imparting her vast range of techniques and experiences to the viewer with a relaxed, but informative style.

I ordered the course from Essential Nails as I am always getting asked, especially in the spring and summer months for Manicures/Pedicures. Its great, the DVD's which you receive with the course are in depth and I always thought that a Manicure and Pedicure was easy, I cannot wait to start to learn the techniques and receive lots of extra new and existing clients this year to expand my Mobile Business as a Nail technician. I have ordered other courses from Essential nails and would highly recommend anyone that are thinking of taking that first step into becoming a Nail technician, its well worth it. Essential nails are very quick in processing and dispatching orders and they are always a phone call away especially if you need help and guidence, not only when you are training on one of their courses but afterwards when you become qualified.

Love this course !. I have just about finished all my models now and they loved it. They have booked appointments at the salon in the next month. So I guess I better get my course work back to you quickly.!!!!!!!!!!
The girls at essential nails are amazing with their continued support.
If you are thinking of doing this course I would stop thinking and go for it . It is easy to follow and as I said the support at the end of the phone is always there.
As with all the courses I have done with essential nails they have been great. And thanks to their help I now have added a very successful nail bar to my salon and have not looked back. Thank you everyone at essential nails.
