Distance learning is fast becoming the accepted way to learn new skills. For many people there is no time for conventional classroom courses, you need a course that fits your busy life- style. Learn in the evenings, at week ends, at a time and place to suit you. Avoid the costly and inconvenient travel to and from the classroom and you don't need to find a baby sitter. You get to make your mistakes safely, in private, not on potential paying clients. Relax! Practice as much as you like for as long as you like on the life-like Nail Trainer hand; no 'small talk' required! Take the course at your own pace and watch the video over and over until you understand. There's no pressure from class mates or teacher to hurry up. You're not alone. Unlike many classroom teachers, your video tutor is an expert, but if you should get stuck, unlimited telephone support is included: friendly help is only a phone call or email away.
| How you learn |
Part 1: Foundation You'll learn about life in a nail salon and you will understand the issues involved with sanitation, salon procedures, nail diseases, different nail systems, tools, chemicals and products.
You will create your first nails. Gina shows you how to hold files and fingers, how to prepare the nail and create the extension. All the techniques are shown slowly and then at a speed you might achieve in a salon. You copy what you see on your own Nail Trainer. |
Part 3: Working the Whole Hand You bring together all the techniques you have mastered and learn some of the tricks of the trade. Saving your work. The nails you create on the Nail Trainer are detachable, you save them as you work though the course, so on completion our tutors get to see and asses your finished work. |

Your course workAs you work through the course you will be saving the nails at each stage of the nail build on our unique progress cards. You'll also have practised up to 60 sets of nails, perfecting the techniques you've learnt. You'll have answered up to 8 question papers and had one to one coaching over the phone or email. |

Please note that we will only assess work, and issue certificates sent to us by the original purchaser of the course unless agreed by us in advance. Under some circumstances it is possible to transfer a course, for example an unused course to another family member, but please phone us to arrange this first.
If you buy a second hand course from ebay, for example, you will have to purchase the assessment for that course separately for which there is a charge of 95 pounds. This buys you: telephone support, special prices on any additional Nail Trainer nails and extension tips you might need, assessment of your work, issue of re-take cards, products and re-assessment if you fail, issue of your certificate and membership of 'Aspire' when you pass.
We strongly advise you to call us first before buying a second hand course as many will have used, out of date, or missing items, some may have payments outstanding under our 'pay as you learn' scheme. You may well end up spending more to get a complete course than if you had bought a brand new course.

Hi, I've now completed four courses, The Acrylic course, the gel, the maintenance courses and Nail Art. I passed three courses with credit and one course with a distinction. I have to say that the nail art was my favourite, but I loved doing them all. Sarah and Jax have been brilliant all the way through, even since passing my courses and even when I've been uncertain of things they have been there to reassure me. I took this course and found the instructor on the training DVD was well gounded and carried you along explaining why some steps need to be taking. Its really wonderful to be able to take the course at home and at ones pace. The course contents are fantastic because you get good products sent to you to complete the course...its more like you have started your nail business alreadty. I now a qualified as a Nail Technician after passing this course with a credit...this is fantastic!!! I got this course last year and I loved it from the start, I also did the maintainence course and have almost compleated the Acrylic Sculpting. If it wasnt for Essential Nails I dont think I would have been able to fulfil my dream of being a Nail Technician as I have been able to train at home in my own time and own pace. Im now planning on getting the Nail Art and Airbrushing courses and cant wait to start them!

I have always been interested in nails but never had time to go to college ect to be able to complete a course, after alot of research i came across Essential Nails, it looked great, i could start when i want, practice when i want and have flexible payments, all of these really helped as i have 3 young children! I started the course in october 09, did it at my own pace, when i had a problem or question the essential nails team were always there and were very helpful to find a soloution for me. I have since sent in my course for review which was extremely easy to do, and have had my good news personally delivered over the phone by ther lovely sarah, to say i had passed! This course allows you to have practical work assessed; other companies only assess written work, which I find strange. How can you possibly gain a qualification for something that you have no practical experience of. Also the range of follow on courses at more affordable prices after I have completed the first is very good.

I can't say enough good things about this course, everyone was so helpful and I did not feel that I was on my own at all. It was very easy to follow the dvd and to fit in the training whenever I was free, infact I went on to do the air brush course as well.
