Nail Courses; how to choose a course.

how to chose a nail courses

We have seven Nail Courses, three beginners courses:

Plus four more advanced courses:

Once you have taken one of these courses you will be able to create a set of beautiful nails in 60 to 90 minutes and charge £30 to £40 for the service. You can then go on to learn more about different aspects of creating nails; We have courses for Acrylic Sculpting, Airbrushing, Nail Art and Maintenance. All of the courses assume that you know absolutely nothing about nails, so you can be assured that everything you need to know will be taught in the courses. Which course to choose? Read the information below, before making a decision:

Gel Nails Course ^ top ^

This is the ideal beginner's course. Expect to take about 60 hours to complete the course.
Gels are the latest innovation in the world of professional nail enhancements. Gel comes in a small jar and is about the consistancy of honey. It's applied to the nail and extension tip with a small brush, and is 'self levelling'. It's therefore easier to apply than Acrylics, making it the ideal system for beginners. Gel nails are cured under an ultra violet (UV) light and are odour free, hardwearing and beautiful to look at. Whether you’re a beginner or an accomplished nail tech, to offer a modern service, you need to learn Gel nails.

Acrylic Nails Course ^ top ^

Also known as 'liquid and powder', this is the classic nail extension system and is in highest demand by customers. Expect to take about 80 hours to complete the course. You mix small balls of acrylic and powder on a brush and apply to the nail and extension tip, pushing it into shape with the brush, and then filing and polishing to a high gloss finish. It's slightly harder to learn than Gel, so you might need to put aside 6 hours a week. Some people dislike the strong smell, but some people love it! After completing the course you will be able to
create a professional looking set of Acrylic nails to delight your friends or clients.

Fibreglass Nails Course ^ top ^

This is the system that is kindest to the natural nail, using far less aggressive chemicals than Gel or Acrylic. After extending the natural nail with tip, small pieces of fibreglass are applied to the nail and covered with resin. The resin sets hard in a few minutes and soaks into the fibreglass weave making it invisible. It has no odour, and although it is less popular than Gel or Acrylic, many nail Technicians love the natural look and easy maintenance of Fibreglass Nails.

Airbrushed Nails Course ^ top ^

Airbrushing nails is a fascinating art, you create unique and intricate designs on your friends or
clients nails by spraying coloured paints onto the nails with a small airbrush. Patterns and shapes are created by blending colours or spraying though stencils.
This course will teach you the skills you need to create literally thousands of nail designs, it contains everything you need to learn; compressor, airbrush, stencils, paints, cleaning equipment, tuition, practice, assessment and certification. Expect to take 40 hours to pass this course. Technicians skilled in this exciting art can charge an additional £5 to £30 for their work.

Acrylic Sculpting Nails Course ^ top ^

Technicians offering this service can charge up to £80 for a set of stunning sculpted nails. The course is quite hard work, we recommend 8 hours a week for 12 weeks, but the results are worth it! Sculpting is the pinnacle of the Nail Technicians art, as a tip is not used, the entire nail is created entirely from Acrylic powder and liquid. If you can master this skill you WILL be in deman.

Nail Art Course ^ top ^

This comprehensive course will teach you how to enter the fascinating world of the professional Nail Artiste.
Your teachers are top Nail Educator Jacqui Jefford and Nail Art Superstar Kirsty Meakin. Watch and learn, as Jaqui shows you how to create 20 designs; dotting flowers and leaves, striping, flicking, animal prints, opalescent blends, marbling, glitters, stained glass, rhinestones, stars, flatstones, transfers, charms, striping tape and foiling. Then watch as Kirsty takes these simple techniques to a higher level, producing a range of stunning, competition grade artworks. All the tools and products are included. You save your work on the special progress card which you send to us for assessment and certification.

Maintenance Nails Course ^ top ^

Put aside a couple of hours a week and you'll soon know how to deal with common problems in all systems; Gel, Acrylic and Fibreglass, because, even if you only deal with Gel nails for example, you will need to know how to deal with customers that are wearing Acrylic or Fibreglass.
This course will teach you how to deal with cracked, broken, and lifting nails. You'll be taught how to do a standard 'rebalance' as the natural nail grows out and to soak off old extensions. A must for any serious Nail Technician.

Spa Manicure Pedicure Course ^ top ^
